Finding My Path in Tech
When I started studying software engineering at African Leadership University (ALU), I was simply curious about how software worked. Today, that curiosity has evolved into something much more meaningful – a drive to use technology as a tool for change in education, entrepreneurship, and environmental conservation.
Where Technology Meets Purpose
My internships and projects have shown me the incredible potential of technology to create real impact. At the ALU School of Wildlife Conservation (SOWC), I dove into the world of conservation technology. Later, during my research externship with National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy, I saw firsthand how technical solutions could support environmental initiatives.
These experiences taught me that good software isn't just about clean code – it's about understanding the problems you're solving and the people you're helping.
Making Education Accessible
My time at the SOZO Foundation opened my eyes to technology's role in education. There, I built a student engagement platform that went beyond just features and functions. Working directly with students and staff, I learned how technology could break down barriers to education and create opportunities for communities that need them most.
Building Bridges for Future Generations
This understanding led me to start Net Pathway – a project close to my heart. Growing up, I saw how limited access to mentorship and resources could hold talented students back. Net Pathway connects students with mentors and resources to help them navigate their career paths, turning my personal experiences into a solution that can help others avoid the same struggles.
